UKTV Original crime drama We Hunt Together, written by Gaby Hull (Cheat), will star Eve Myles (Keeping Faith, Broadchurch) and Babou Ceesay (Dark MonĀ£y, National Treasure) alongside rising stars Dipo Ola (Baghdad Central, Inside No.9) and Hermione Corfield (Star Wars The Last Jedi, Rust Creek, Mission Impossible). The series, produced by BBC Studios Productions, will air on Alibi next Spring.

The six-part thriller begins with the collision of two extraordinary people; Baba, played by Dipo Ola, a former child soldier desperate to suppress his violent conditioning, and Freddy, played by Hermione Corfield, a magnetic and disarmingly charming free spirit. When Baba rescues Freddy from an attack following a date that has turned sour, something dark is ignited in them both.

In this bold new take on the classic cat and mouse story, two star-crossed killers are on the loose with two dysfunctional detectives in hot pursuit. DS Lola Franks, played by Eve Myles, and DI Jackson Mendy, played by Babou Ceesay, have to come to terms with their mismatched partnership and polar opposite outlooks on the culpability of the criminal mind as they try to outsmart the killers. A psychological thriller and romance, We Hunt Together explores the dangerous power of desire and questions who is really to blame when the damaged do damage.

Eve Myles says:

We Hunt Together is a masterpiece - it's thought-provoking and punchy, yet comic at times. Really looking forward to carving out this complicated character and working on these brilliant scripts.

Babou Ceesay adds:

I'm thrilled to be working with BBC Studios and UKTV on such a provocative and gritty crime drama. With this fantastic mix of actors, producers, directors and writer on board, we can truly create something compelling and unique.

Dipo Ola says:

It's an honour to be part of the We Hunt Together team. Baba is a very complex and conflicted character and I'm excited to dive in and really un-pick his multitude of layers. Gaby is very talented at creating intoxicating characters and I look forward to working with Hermione, Eve and Babou to bring his scripts to life.

Hermione Corfield adds:

Freddy is not like any character that I have ever played before, and that's what really drew me to this project. She is fiercely intelligent and has the ability to emotionally manipulate which makes for a powerful and dangerous combination.

Drama commissioning editor Philippa Collie-Cousins will executive produce Alibi's first thriller series for UKTV. For BBC Studios, BAFTA-winning Hilary Salmon (Three Girls, MotherFatherSon), Anne Pivcevic (Little Dorrit, Silent Witness) and Esther Springer (Undercover, Our Girl) will executive produce with Lisa Osborne (MotherFatherSon, Little Dorrit) as series producer. Killing Eve casting directors Crowley and Poole are casting the series. The six-part UKTV Original will be directed by Carl Tibbetts (Black Mirror) and Jon Jones (Hanna), and shot by Cinematographers Oli Russell (Sex Education) and Michael Wood (Riviera). The production also welcomes Production Designer Jamie Lapsley (Bodyguard), Costume Designer Emma Rees (End of the F...king World), and Make Up Designer Helen Speyer (End of the F...king World).

We Hunt Together is the second series to be jointly commissioned by UKTV and BBC Studios Distribution, with Traces from RED Production Company announced earlier this year. They are the latest additions to UKTV's growing slate of scripted series including the return of W's Anna Paquin-fronted Flack for a second series starring Sam Neill and Daniel Dae Kim. BBC Studios is handling distribution internationally.
