UKTV's award-winning entertainment Dave has just announced a brand-new factual entertainment commission; Big Zuu's Big Eats (10x40') which will air early 2020.

Produced by Boomerang, part of the Twofour Group, Big Zuu's Big Eats is hosted by London based grime artist and DJ Big Zuu. Taking his passion for cooking on the road, each episode will see Big Zuu prepare mouth-watering, made-to-order dishes for a famous comedian on tour in the UK. Guest comedians making an appearance in the series include Rosie Jones and Desiree Burch, among others.

Big Zuu said:

Having my own TV series has been a dream come true. I've grown up obsessed with watching cooking programmes and making homemade food, so to now be able to do that on TV is a surreal feeling. I'm a massive fan of the channel Dave and I can't wait to start filming!

Big Zuu's Big Eats is commissioned by Natalie Rose, UKTV commissioning executive, and ordered for Dave by Richard Watsham, director of commissioning, Luke Hales, Dave channel director and Steve North, genre manager, comedy and entertainment. Executive producer for Boomerang is Sam Grace. Boomerang/Twofour Group is part of ITV Studios.

Natalie Rose said: "Big Zuu is just the kind of extraordinary raw talent we've been looking for. Bags of charisma, effortless charm, infectious humour and true authenticity. As a touring artist, he acutely understands life on the road, and the instant gratification delicious food brings. All of which make his partnership with some of the UK's finest comics that more exciting"

Luke Hales said:

We are committed to experimenting with fresh formats at Dave and this really ticks the box. We have found a real talent in Big Zuu - he has bags of charm and humour and makes some of the most mouth-watering food I have ever seen on telly - this, coupled with some of the biggest and brightest names in comedy, makes for a really exciting show. I am so glad Natalie brought this one to us and so impressed with all the work she has done to get this one off the ground

Sam Grace, Director of Programmes, Boomerang, said: "Zuu is naturally funny and spontaneous and we know his favourite comedians will love him as much as we do! His cooking style and relaxed trademark narration will be perfect for Dave viewers - who might just pick up a few cooking tips too."

Big Zuu's Big Eats is one of many new additions to the ever-growing slate of UKTV Originals on Dave. Other recent fact-ent commissions include UKTV's recent co-production with BBC, Expedition with Steve Backshall and the forthcoming Eddie Eats America with strongman Eddie Hall. Dave continues to work with the best of British comedy, with the rest of the year bringing the current ninth series of Taskmaster, Comedians Giving Lectures, and brand-new series Dave Gorman: Terms and Conditions Apply. Next year will see Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont team up for Meet The Richardsons and the return of Josh Widdicombe and James Acaster's Hypothetical.

Big Zuu's Big Eats comes to Dave next year.

Ever since it was knee high to a TV remote, Dave had an idea. It wanted to be the first place viewers would come for brand-new, award-winning entertainment from the biggest and brightest stars and production companies in the UK. And in the years since, it has launched some of the most exciting and best-loved titles on TV.

There are names like BAFTA and Emmy-nominated Taskmaster - now in its ninth series -, Judge Romesh, Hypothetical, Jon Richardson: Ultimate Worrier and Comedians Giving Lectures. And of course there's Dave Gorman, whose inquisitive mind is returning to the channel for Terms and Conditions Apply. It's not just in front of the camera where the comic genius lies either, with a wealth of scripted treasure such as Sliced, Porters and the globally popular Red Dwarf.

Dave's not content just to make you laugh and share gags with your mates though. Expedition with Steve Backshall and Hurricane Man are showing you regions and aspects of the earth never before seen on TV. Red Bull Soapbox continues to delight with its boundless capacity for invention. And stepping away from the TV entirely, Dave's partnered with CALM to launch the "Be The Mate You'd Want" campaign and the "Conversations Against Living Miserably" podcast.

Reaching 20million viewers a month, Dave's come a long way, but it's only just getting warmed up.
