Following the success of the latest series, hit nineteen century crime drama Miss Scarlet and the Duke will return to Alibi for a third instalment in early 2023. The 6x60' series is co-produced by MASTERPIECE and Element 8 Entertainment, with pre-investment from UKTV. The series will also air on BBC First in Benelux and BBC Brit in Africa.

The third series of Miss Scarlet and the Duke will continue to follow Kate Phillips (Peaky Blinders, The Crown) as the fearless female detective Eliza Scarlet, and Stuart Martin (Army of Thieves, Jamestown) as her childhood friend and will-they-won't-they love interest, Inspector William 'The Duke' Wellington.

Miss Scarlet and The Duke is created by Rachael New, who writes the series alongside Ben Edwards. Executive producers are Patrick Irwin, Patricia Lenahan Ishimoto, Harvey Myman and Jin Ishimoto. The series is directed by Steve Hughes and Ivan Zivkovic, and the series is distributed by PBSd.

Melanie Rumani, global head of acquisitions for BBC Studios and UKTV, said:

We're thrilled to continue our partnership with MASTERPIECE and Element 8 Entertainment on this brilliant series. It's an exceptionally written story that is beautifully shot, and a real treat for viewers.

Emma Ayech, channel director for Alibi, added:

The Alibi audience are huge fans of this series, so we're really pleased that we can bring them more of what they love. I'm excited to see where Eliza and the Duke's relationship will go and thankfully, we don't have too long to wait.

Miss Scarlet and the Duke joins other UKTV Original series on Alibi in 2023, including World Productions The Diplomat, starring Sophie Rundle, Danny Sapani and Steven Cree.
